Three Miami (Okla) officers placed on leave amid internal investigation

Updated:

The Miami, Oklahoma Police Department places three officers on paid administrative leave amidst an internal investigation.

Miami city officials say the names will not be released due to privacy concerns.

Police Chief George Haralson says the investigation is expected to take about two-weeks and stresses that there will be no disruption in police services during that time.

This is the second round of suspensions within the department in the past few months.

Back in November four officers were placed on administrative leave after a DUI traffic stop led to a Miami resident claiming officers used excessive force and inaccurately presented the incident on a police report.

That investigation is still underway.
