El Vaquero Reopens in Joplin

A popular Mexican restaurant destroyed by the tornado is back up and running for business.

El Vaquero opened their doors for business 2 years after being destroyed by the Joplin tornado.

Cars filled the parking lot and along main street welcoming back the restaurant.
The new building remains in its original location, and features the same classic interior with a little modernization.
Owners of the restaurant say they never anticipated the reopen the restaurant...but with the community support over the past two years, they reconsidered

"We're excited because everybody was waiting for the building, and we didn't expect it to reopen, and we just try to hope everybody is happy with what we're doing" says owner, Gerardo Villasenor.

Villasenor says all traditional items on the menu are still available on the menu, including some new 5-cheese dishes as well.

They are located at 2412 main street.
