Dog found alive in a manhole 12 days later

The owner of a lost dog in Southwest Missouri is relieved after her dog was rescued from a precarious situation 12 days later.

Matlida, a five year old west highland white terrier, went missing nearly two weeks ago. The last time her owner saw her was when she was outside chasing rabbits.

Matlida's owner says when she called her inside she never came.

The family and neighbors searched nearby areas, hung posters, and posted missing dog ads online, but there was still no trace.

Luck changed when three brothers were playing football near a vacant field, and mistakenly kicked the football down a hole.

One of the brothers noticed a dog inside and recognized it as the missing dog.

"We were like we found your dog, and she was like "What? Tillie!"" said Pryce Mason.

The city has since filled the manhole.
Matlida is expected to make a full recovery.
