The event you've been waiting for, a legendary night for sports fans, is just around the corner!  The Fourth Annual Snowball Classic will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2014, 5:30-8:30 pm at the Coleman Theater Ballroom, downtown Miami, Oklahoma.

 

This fun filled evening includes live and silent auctions, a reception and full dinner.  The featured guest speaker will be St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame Shortstop, Ozzie Smith. The event is hosted by Miami RBI, a grass roots organization dedicated to raising funds to renovate Miami's baseball and softball fields.

 

Get a free photo taken with Ozzie Smith. Purchase autographed balls or bats. Bid on unique sports memorabilia and other items.  Help countless student athletes. Have fun!

Ozzie Smith is known in baseball as "The Wizard" and the best defensive shortstop of all time. A 15 time All Star, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002. During his time in the majors, Ozzie broke many records, including becoming the All-time assist leader at shortstop with 8,375 assists and the All-time leader at turning double plays, with 1,590.

    The Kansas Highway Patrol says one man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on U69 about two miles south of Pittsburg. It happened on August 20th, 2018 around 9:10 a.m. Authorities say 70-year-old Stephen Hite was driving a Ford Ranger south on U69. He was slowing to turn onto E. 510 Ave. and was rear-ended by a Chevy Malibu. Hite's truck overturned onto its roof. Both vehicles came to rest in the east ditch. Hite died at the scene.
