Kids participate in Lego competition in Pittsburg

Updated:

To some kids in Pittsburg, building with Lego's got fairly competitive today.

Nearly 60 children, grades 1st through 6th, competed in a block building contest at Pittsburg State University this afternoon.

Third grade contestants made everything from boats to catapults, all in hopes of winning over the judges with their creativity.

"Really you just need to be good with the details and be able to know what you're working on," third grader Henry Phillip said. "The thing is, there could be a whole other world out there that no one has ever discovered before made out of Lego's."

Contest winners will have a picture taken of their creation to be sent on to the regional level of the competition in Wichita.
