Officers respond to fight over the weekend

PARSONS, KS — Officers from the Parsons Police Dept. responded to a domestic fight in the area near 900 S. 16th St. When the first officer arrived the suspect was walking away. The officer ordered the man to stop when the suspect turned around with a knife in his hand.

The suspect, who ignored the police request, left the scene and barricaded himself in his residence, just down the street. When officers entered the residence, the suspect fought with officers. Two officers received minor injuries in the fight.

The 38-year-old male was arrested in his home without injury.

He is expected to be charged with three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of legal process, criminal damage to property, domestic battery, and disorderly conduct.

The suspect is currently being held in Labette County Jail on a $50,000 bond while awaiting charges.
