Annual Charity Golf Scramble - May 1 at Twin Hills Country Club

Updated:

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY ROTARY CLUB OF JOPLIN

The 13th Annual Charity Golf Scramble will take place on Thursday, May 1 (rain date May 8) at Twin Hills Country Club.

In 2013, we presented a check to The Community Clinic for $10,000! Our event has grown so much that this year with your help, our goal is to not only provide The Community Clinic with ongoing support but expand our giving to other local charitable organizations as well. For the clinic, this is the ONLY active fund raiser during the year. The Community Clinic receives NO insurance reimbursement and NO Federal or State funding; all operations are funded by Foundation Grants, this Golf Scramble, individual, business and church donations, the United Way and volunteer efforts. The clinic and other local charities will benefit directly from all proceeds gained from the outing.

The Community Clinic provides free care to those in need:

  • It is open five days per week serving the needs of medical and dental patients including pediatrics and many specialties.
  • All prescription medications, as ordered by Clinic practitioners, are provided to the patients during their visit, free of charge. Each year, the Clinic issues an average of 10,000 prescriptions.
  • Local physicians and dentists volunteer to care for uninsured children and adults at no charge.
  • In 2012, 9,501 patients sought care at the Clinic. More than 1000 of these patient’s, were new to the facility.

You can help by contributing as a player, sponsoring a hole or providing a cash donation. Please choose a sponsorship level that is appropriate for your company and return the form by March 15, 2014. Your efforts are greatly appreciated by our club as well as the many local patients that count on the free medical attention the clinic provides each day.

The golf scramble committee and I thank you for your continued support.
