Governor Brownback closes Executive Branch State Offices Feb. 4 due to winter storm

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE OFFICE OF KANSAS GOVERNOR SAM BROWNBACK

TOPEKA – Governor Sam Brownback today announced State offices in Shawnee County will be closed on Feb. 4, 2014 in advance of a major winter storm predicted to carry with it several inches of snow followed by frigid temperatures and windy conditions.

Closing the offices will affect non-essential Executive Branch employees in the affected counties scheduled to work between 6:00 am, Tuesday, Feb. 4 to 6:00 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014.

This declaration does not include state employees in the Board of Regents, Regents Institutions, the Judicial Branch, nor the Legislative Branch of Government. Their designated representative will make a separate declaration for those employees if appropriate.
