MIAA softball continues early season schedule

Central Missouri scheduled to head to Arkansas 
Record: 2-2, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .290, ERA 3.90
After going 2-2 to open the year Central Missouri is scheduled to travelArkansas this weekend. At the plate Jakki Prater is hitting .357 with two homeruns and four runs driven in while Emily King is hitting .385 with four runsdriven in. In the circle Prater is 1-0 with a 1.69 earned run average and KatieShockley is 1-0 with 3.12 ERA.

#1 Central Oklahoma scheduled for trip to Arkansas
Record: 2-3, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .319, ERA 3.50 
Central Oklahoma is scheduled to travel to Arkansas after going 2-3 to open theyear. At the plate Ally Dziadula is hitting .375 with four runs scored and fiveruns driven in and Ashton Smith has also driven in five runs. In the circle AmandaMcClelland is 1-0 with a 2.84 earned run average in 12.1 innings pitcher.

Emporia State scheduled to head to Arkansas

Team Stats: Batting Average .263, ERA 3.00
Emporia State is scheduled to head for Arkansas after going 2-1 to open theseason in Texas. At the plate Laura Seeman is hitting .444 with one home runand three RBI. MIAA/AstroTurf Pitcher of the Week Kaitlyn Caston went 2-0 witha 1.00 earned run average in 14.0 innings of work.

Fort Hays State opens the season Feb. 14 in Arkansas
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .299, ERA 1.94 
The defending MIAA Regular Season Champions Fort Hays State open 2014 inArkansas Feb. 14-16. At the plast last season Amanda Vaupel hit .339 with 47RBI and Bianca Adame hit .325 and stole 40 bases. In the circle Paxton Duranwas 15-7 with a 3.09 ERA.

Lincoln waits for trip to Minnesota
Record: 2-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .235, ERA 2.50   
After opening the year 2-0, Lincoln is next scheduled to head to Minnesota onFeb. 23-24. At the plate Sam Kircher is hitting .500 with three home runs andsix runs driven in. In the circle Jessica Cook was 1-0 with a 2.00 earned runaverage.

Lindenwood wait until Feb. 23 for next action
Record: 2-4, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .204, ERA 5.85
After opneing the season 2-4 in Florida, Lindenwood will next be at home onFeb. 23. At the plate Courtney Kitson hit .333 with two runs driven in and fivescored. In the circle Morgan Colvis is 2-1 with a 4.05 earned run average.

Missouri Southern scheduled to open in Arkansas
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .279, ERA 3.55 
Missouri Southern is scheduled to open the season in Arkansas this weekend. Atthe plate in 2013 Shelby Romines hit .364 with seven home runs and 40 runsdriven in. In the circle Sarah Williams was 9-6 with a 2.55 ERA in 12 starts.

Missouri Western travels to Arkansas
Record: 2-2, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .278, ERA 3.00 
Missouri Western will head to the UAM 8-State this weekend after going 2-2 tostart the year. MIAA AstroTurf Hitter of the Week Tiffany Gillaspy hit .583with three runs scored. In the circle Jackie Bishop is 1-1 with a 2.00 ERA in14.0 innings pitched.

Nebraska-Kearney scheduled to open in Arkansas 
Record:  0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .235, ERA 4.19 
Nebraska-Kearney is scheduled to begin this weekend in Arkansas. At the platein 2013 Erin Dwyer hit .320 with 11 RBI and Katie Ruwe hit .302 with six homeruns and 28 RBI. In the circle Brittnie Kreiser was 3-7 with a 3.58 earned runaverage.

Northeastern State travels to Texas

Team Stats: Batting Average .286, ERA 4.33    
Northeastern State will travel to Wichita Falls, Texas after a 1-2 opening tothe season. At the plate Madison Reed is hitting .700 with four runs scored andthree stolen bases. In the circle Kylee Cole is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 4.1innings pitched.

Northwest Missouri scheduled for trip to Arkansas 
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .292, ERA 3.16 
Northwest Missouri opens the season Feb. 14-16 in Arkansas. At the plate lastseason  Kirsten Uthe hit  .310 with five home runs and 33 RBI. In thecircle Abbie Vitosh was 9-6 with a 3.68 earned run average.

Pittsburg State set to travel to Arkansas
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats:  Batting Average .292, ERA 3.13  
Pittsburg State opens the season Feb. 14-16 in Bentonville, Ark. At the platelast season Tiffany Brown hit .369 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI.  In thecircle Samantha Grove was 7-4 with a 3.28 earned run average in seven starts.

Southwest Baptist heads to Arkansas Feb. 14-16
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .193, ERA 7.04 
Southwest Baptist opens their season Feb. 14-16 in Bentonville, Ark. At theplate in 2013 Londyn Backfish hit .278 with 12 runs scored and five stolenbases. In the circle Lyndie Routh was 0-18 with a 8.43 earned run average.

Washburn waits to face SBU and open league play
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .272, ERA 7.73   
Washburn is scheduled to face SBU at home on Feb. 22 to begin league play. Atthe plate last season Deidra Jones hit .417 with six home runs and 22 RBI. Inthe circle Lauren Thimmesch was 9-15 with a 6.22 earned run average.

    The Missouri Supreme Court might have to assign a special judge to a Carl Junction child murder case. There have now been six judges in a 2017 child murder case in southwest Missouri, four of which have recused themselves. Jalen Vaden is accused of killing 3-year-old Jayda Kyle at the Carl Junction home he shared with the child's mother.     Pittsburg Shooting Suspect Arrested In Texas

    Texas authorities arrest a man wanted for shooting a woman in Pittsburg over the weekend.  According to Pittsburg Police, Eric James Cravey was arrested around 3a.m. this morning.  Cravey was taken into custody by Hill County, Texas Sheriff's Department.  He will face extradition proceedings soon.  The 34 year old suspect is accused of shooting Vanessa McWhirt-Martin last Saturday.  She was last reported in critical condition.  Authorities have not rel...
