Carthage School District Receives Grant from K D & M L Steadley Trust

POSTED ON BEHALF OF THE CARTHAGE R-IX SCHOOL DISTRICT

School District Receives Grant from K D & M L Steadley Trust

The Carthage R-IX School District has been awarded a $350,000 grant from the K D & M L Steadley Trust, Bank of America, Trustee, in support of the Carthage 2020 Comprehensive Facilities Improvement Plan. The trust funds are earmarked for a building project on East Fairview Avenue that will house the District’s Early Childhood Special Education and Parents As Teachers programs.

Costs for construction of the ECSE portion of the facility will be reimbursed through a federal grant and the District has launched a campaign to solicit approximately $750,000 to add space for the Parents As Teachers program. The $350,000 grant provided by the K D & M L Steadley Trust is a huge step toward reaching that goal.

Since 1991, the K D & M L Steadley Trust has provided over $7.7 million for District facility projects and equipment. The Trust also funds various instructional programs and annual scholarships for Carthage graduates through the Carthage R-9 School Foundation. The District is grateful for the many advantages created for our students through the generosity and vision of Kent and Mary Steadley.

Construction of the ECSE / PAT Center is scheduled to begin this spring. Opportunities for supporting the project with private donations are offered through naming rights. If you are interested in making a contribution or would like more information, please contact:
