Pitt State Athletes Compete at OBU Invitational

NORMAN, OK- Pittsburg State University men's and women's indoor track & field athletes competed at the Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational Saturday (Feb. 15) at Mosier Indoor Track on the University of Oklahoma campus.

In the men's competition, Connor Stark won the 5,000 meters in 15 minutes, 55.91 seconds, while Jordan Peters placed second in the 600 yard run in 1:22.58. The distance medley relay also placed second in 10:49.86.

Steven Mann also placed second in the long jump with a best mark of 23 feet, 4.75 inches. Bo Farrow posted a PR in the shot put, placing third in 53-9.75. Cody Holland also placed third in the weight throw (55-0.25).

In the women's action, Ramie Grayson enjoyed a big day. Grayson posted a PR in the long jump placing second in 19-3.25 and posting the fourth best mark in NCAA Division II this season. She also placed second in the 60 meters (7.73) and the 200 meters (25.72).

Heather Glenn won the pole vault with a clearance of 12-2.75 and Cassie Caswell posted a PR with a second-place finish in the weight throw (53-0).

Casey Epps also finished second in the mile run in 5:16.09.

Pitt State athletes will compete at the UCM Classic and the Nebraska Tune-up Meet next week in the Gorillas final action before the 2014 MIAA Indoor Championships.
