MSSU sweeps Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week

Missouri Southern has swept the MIAA Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week as Jeff Fraley won the track and Darion Boure wins for the field.

Darion Boure, Missouri Southern

Boure won the triple jump at the Oklahoma Baptist Invite this past weekend held at the University of Oklahoma. He won with a big leap of 49-07.25, placing him fourth nationally and breaking the school record in the event, a record that stood for nearly ten years. He also placed seventh in the long jump at the meet. The 6-0 junior jumper is a native of St. Lous, Mo. where he competed at University City High School.

Others nominated: George Charalambous, Central Missouri; Jay Kilpatrick, Nebraska-Kearney; Brady Tien, Fort Hays State.

MIAA Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jeff Fraley, Missouri Southern

Fraley broke his own 60m indoor school record and hit an AQ in the event as the Lions competed at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational this past weekend in Norman, Oklahoma, held at the University of Oklahoma. Fraley won the 60m in a time of 6.71, which beat his previous mark of 6.76. He defeated two former Division I All-Americans, brothers and Olympians in the race in former TCU star Justyn Warren and former Iowa State star Ian Warren. His time is third-best this year in Division II and he also won the 200m with a provisional time of 21.90. He currently holds the top time in Division II in that event at 21.63. The 5-9 junior sprinter is a native of St. Robert, Mo. where he competed at Waynesville High School.
