Carterville man is accused of assaulting and threatening to kill a woman with a gun; suspect has bonded out

Updated at 2:45 p.m.:  Authorities tell us a Carterville man accused of threatening to kill a woman has bonded out.

Robert Whisner is charged with one count of class C felony domestic assault in the second degree, felony armed criminal action, and two counts of class D felony of unlawful use of a weapon.

Posted February 20, 2014 at 1:20 p.m.:  A Carterville, Missouri man is accused of assaulting and threatening a woman with a gun.

According the probable cause, Robert Whisner, was intoxicated when he hit, kicked and hit the woman with a pistol.  Whisner fired the weapon three times - twice into the floor and once through a wall.  Whisner is also accused of threatening to kill the woman and authorities say he pointed the pistol to her head several times, and put it into her mouth.

Whisner is charged with one count of class C felony domestic assault in the second degree, felony armed criminal action, and two counts of class D felony of unlawful use of a weapon.
