Mercy Hospital announces money raised at community roundtable

Mercy Hospital held a community roundtable Thursday night to announce the second phase of its Advancing Care Together campaign. Officials have been quietly raising funds to support the technology and initiatives for the new hospital. They announced $11.3 million has been raised toward the $15 million goal.

The hospital is also the recipient of a $1 million Challenge Grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation.  Fred Osborn, regional vice president of philanthropy, says the new facility will play a major role in Southwest Missouri.

"Anybody that drives I-44 or down south main realizes what impact it's going to have on the community."

The new facility is on schedule to open March 22, 2015.
