NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M COLLEGE

Miami, Okla. – Friday, Feb, 21, 2014 – McKenize Solberg hit her 11th three-pointer Saturday, Feb. 15th against Western, which set a new record for the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO), Lady Norse. The record had been 10, set by Brittany Allen in 2006 against Garden City, Kan.

“I was not surprised that Kenzie broke the record,” said Jim Rowland, head coach for the Lady Norse. “She is a great shooter. She felt confident going into the game against Western, and we knew it was just a matter of time. I was very excited for her to do it at a home game.”

Solberg is a sophomore at NEO. She transferred from the University of Central Oklahoma where she averaged 8.3 points and 3.7 rebounds during her freshman year.

Solberg is from Chandler High School where she earned Oklahoma Little All-City, Conference MVP and All-State honors as a senior. She is the daughter of Lori Jones and Don Solberg. She has three younger siblings.
