Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraiser gathers over bowling

Updated:

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters held its annual "Bowl for Kids Sake" in Pittsburg on Saturday.

As one of the organizations' largest fundraisers, the event offered a fun way for volunteers and kids to celebrate over the money they have raised toward an annual goal of $50,000. Adults and kids took part in community-supported raffles and bowling. Officials say it was also a way to spread awareness about future goals.

"We need more mentors in Crawford County," said CEO and President Dan Soliday. "So anybody that's willing to volunteer and connect with a child and just mentor them and help them develop throughout their life, that's what we're there for."

The organization is still taking donations. More information can be found at: http://www.kansasbigs.org.
