Arrest made in Pittsburg for arson of two vehicles

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE PITTSBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT

An arrest has been made in connection to the night time February 22, 2014 arson fires of two vehicles in downtown Pittsburg, which occurred in the 400 and 500 blocks of N. Broadway. On the night of these fires, Andrew J. Lewis, age 29 of Pittsburg was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Marijuana, after he fled from a third vehicle parked in the 600 block N. Broadway. The investigation into the arson fires continued, which has led to charges being brought against Mr. Lewis for two counts of Arson. He appeared in Crawford County District Court today and is being held over on a $25,000 bond.

Anyone having information relating to this crime or other crimes may report it to the Pittsburg Police Department at 620-231-1700. Callers reporting criminal activity may remain anonymous.
