Bright Futures Welcomes Miami, Okla. as 21st Affiliate Community

Updated:

NEWS RELEASE FROM BRIGHT FUTURES USA

Joplin, Mo. – Bright Futures USA is excited to welcome Miami, Ok. as the 21st Bright Futures affiliate community.

The Bright Futures initiative began in Joplin in 2010 and expanded throughout the region as a means of helping schools and communities connect to meet student needs.

Miami is the first Bright Futures affiliate community in Oklahoma. Bright Futures is now present in five states: Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Virginia.

“We are excited about the addition of Miami as an affiliate community and look forward to supporting them in any manner needed as they implement the program,” said Nancy Good, Chairman of the Bright Futures USA board of directors.

The Miami Public School District serves around 2,500 students in its five elementary schools, middle school, high school and alternative school.

Bright Futures USA provides a framework that enables schools to engage businesses, human service agencies, faith-based organizations and parent groups to rally together to meet the needs of their children. This framework partners organizations with schools in a way that helps them to quickly and efficiently meet students’ basic needs, often within 24 hours.
