Meadowlark Students “Curl Up with a Good Book”

NEWS RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

Pittsburg, Kansas (February 28, 2014) – Even though Dr. Seuss’ 110th birthday is Sunday, students at Meadowlark Elementary, 1602 East 20th Street, will be celebrating on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 2:30-3pm for the 16th annual National Education Association’s (NEA) Read Across America Day.

Superintendent Destry Brown, Assistant Superintendent Brian Biermann, Pittsburg High School cheerleaders, Pittsburg Police and Fire Departments will read to students.

The NEA’s Read Across America Day, which celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday and the joys of reading, expects more than 45 million readers, both young and old, to pick up a book and read.
