Pittsburg Dragon Softball Opens Season with New $250K Stadium

Pittsburg, Kan. (February 28, 2014) – This Spring season, Pittsburg Dragon Softball will have a new place to call home. The opening of the new stadium will allow for practices and home games to be played on the PHS campus in the recently established PHS Sport Complex instead of at Lincoln Park. In addition to saving time, this will be a great safety feature in cutting out student travel off campus for home games.

The stadium has been in the works since 2012, with construction beginning in November 2013. The facility will be complete when a concession stand, pressbox, restroom facility is finally built.

On Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 4:30pm, the stadium will be opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by the annual softball scrimmage.
