Jeronimus Named Daktronics All-Central Region

Pittsburg State junior forward Lizzy Jeronimus has been named to the Daktronics All-Central Region team. Jeronimus will now be forwarded to the All-America ballot.
 
Jeronimus, a Lenexa, Kan. native, leads the Gorillas with 18.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She has scored in double figures in 27 games this season, with 15 20-point scoring games and one 30-point scoring game.
 
The 5-10 forward ranks fourth in PSU history in career scoring, fifth in rebounds and 10th in assists. She has set a new school season record for free throws made in a season with 211 and has made the most charity shots of any player in Division II this season.
 
Jeronimus was a first-team All-MIAA selection for the third time in her career, finishing the regular season as the league's second-leading scorer. She is currently 14th on the Division II career active scorers list and is the highest scoring junior. She ranks fourth in Division II for career free throws made and 24th amongst players in all divisions.
 
Jeronimus has earned WBCA honorable mention All-America honors each of her first two seasons and was a Daktronics All-American as a sophomore.
 
She is the daughter of Hank and Nancy Jeronimus and is a management major.
 
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II Centra; Region schools and conferences selected the two Daktronics All-Region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month.
 
The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA).

    The Missouri Supreme Court might have to assign a special judge to a Carl Junction child murder case. There have now been six judges in a 2017 child murder case in southwest Missouri, four of which have recused themselves. Jalen Vaden is accused of killing 3-year-old Jayda Kyle at the Carl Junction home he shared with the child's mother.     Texas authorities arrest a man wanted for shooting a woman in Pittsburg over the weekend.  According to Pittsburg Police, Eric James Cravey was arrested around 3a.m. this morning.  Cravey was taken into custody by Hill County, Texas Sheriff's Department.  He will face extradition proceedings soon.  The 34 year old suspect is accused of shooting Vanessa McWhirt-Martin last Saturday.  She was last reported in critical condition.  Authorities have not rel...
