Gorillas Hold Off Panthers, 13-8

The Pittsburg State University baseball team scored at least one run in each of the final eight innings, including four runs in the eighth, to seal a 13-8 victory over Drury University Wednesday (Mar. 19).

The Gorillas (9-12) compiled 14 hits in the contest against the Panthers (6-7).

Derek Hackney, Tory Stoffregen and Nate Arnold all collected two hits and drove in two runs in the game. Brad Foss also went 1-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Ryan McKay worked 2 2/3 innings of relief to record his third save of the season. Aaron Snow (1-0) got five outs of middle relief to pick up the win.

The Gorillas, who have won three straight games, will open a four-game MIAA series against Washburn University starting Friday (Mar. 21).
