Fairland High School Marching Band raising funds for trip to Sugar Bowl

Updated:
Thursday was a good day for a car wash.  Students in the Fairland High School Marching Band held one today to help raise money for an upcoming trip.

They've been invited to perform in next year's Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

The band made the same trip back in 2009.

They had been invited to perform there this year but couldn't afford to go.

"It was pretty heartbreaking," says band member Grant Smith.  "One of our seniors was really excited to go do all of this with us (Sugar Bowl).  Once she found out we couldn't go, she was pretty upset."

The cost for the trip runs upwards of $35,000.

If you would like to help you can mail your donation to:
