PSU tops men's, LU women's track and field preseason poll

The Pittsburg State men have been picked to repeat as MIAA Indoor Track and Field Champions. The Lincoln women received all the possible first place votes and were also selected to repeat at MIAA Champions.

In the men’s poll Missouri Southern has been picked to finish second, taking two first place votes and coming in six points ahead of Central Missouri who is picked third. Nebraska-Kearney has been picked to finish fourth overall in the poll. Lincoln is picked to finish fifth overall and Emporia State is picked to finish sixth just five points ahead of Southwest Baptist who is picked seventh.

Northwest Missouri has been picked to finish eighth in the poll with Lindenwood picked to finish ninth and Fort Hays State picked tenth by the coaches.

In the women’s poll Missouri Southern is picked to finish second picking up the other first place vote and coming in eight points ahead of Central Missouri who is picked third. Pittsburg State is picked to finish fourth just seven points behind the Jennies. Nebraska-Kearney is picked to finish fifth just five points ahead of sixth place Southwest Baptist, who is just two points ahead of seventh pick Emporia State.

The only tie in the poll Northwest Missouri and Fort Hays State are both picked to finish eighth receiving 31 points each in the poll. Central Oklahoma has been picked to finish 10th with Lindenwood picked to finish 11th at this year’s championships.

The MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for May 2-4 from the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.
