Pitt State honors student employees

Updated:

NEWS RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY

Every day, hundreds of student workers answer phones, process paperwork and provide an array of important services that keep Pittsburg State University humming. Campus officials say it’s hard to imagine how the university would operate without the student help. A lot of businesses off campus feel the same way.

Pittsburg State will honor students for their on-campus and off-campus work at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 4, in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom when the Office of Career Services hosts its annual Student Employee of the Year recognition. This year’s on-campus and off-campus student employees of the year will be announced and all students will be recognized for the valuable work they do, according to Mindy Cloninger, director of the Office of Career Services.

“Student employment is an integral part of the university experience,” Cloninger said. “It provides important income for students, gives them real-world work experience and provides employers, on campus and off campus, with valuable service.”
