Carl Junction residents speak with state lawmakers

Carl Junction residents speak with state lawmakers at a town hall meeting.
Hosted by the Carl Junction Chamber of Commerce, State Senator Ron Richard and State Representatives Tom Flanagan and Charlie Davis met with residents this afternoon.
Some of the biggest topics discussed were the state's budget and the federal gun law nullification bill, which recently passed the House.
"The federal government should not have the authority to ban Missouri citizens from being able to carry or own guns," said Representative Charlie Davis. "We see the federal government everyday trying to take a way constitutional rights, whether it's speech rights or the Second Amendment right, or whether it's our religious freedom rights. Our point was that we needed to do whatever we could in order to protect the constitutional rights."
The gun law nullification bill now goes to the Senate.
