Leggett & Platt, Inc. Sponsors Trading Cards for Carthage Police

Updated:

NEWS RELEASE FROM THE CARTHAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Carthage Police Department is proud to announce an agreement with Leggett & Platt Incorporated’s Creative Services Division to sponsor the department with free trading cards for each of our officers.

The trading cards will feature a picture of the officer, and on the back have their name, rank, badge number and information about the officer’s achievements.

Police trading cards are much like baseball cards, with the purpose of initiating positive contacts with children. Many times children are afraid to talk to police officers. With the trading cards children are encouraged to approach officers to collect as many cards as they can, getting acquainted with our officers at the same time.

Leggett & Platt’s Print Shop was approached with the idea and quickly wished to be a part of the project. Each officer will be provided at least 200 trading cards, while officers involved in the Carthage R-9 School District will be given more due to the many contacts they make on a daily basis.

The Carthage Police Department is always looking for ways to enhance its relationship with the community, especially with Carthage’s youth. Our thanks go to Leggett & Platt for their invaluable assistance on this project.
