Governor Sam Brownback orders flag lowered in honor of victims of April 13 shootings

Governor Sam Brownback orders flag lowered in honor of victims of April 13 shootings

Topeka – In accordance with Executive Order 10-12, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18 in honor of Dr. William Corporon, Reat Griffin Underwood and Terri Lamanno.

The three were victims of shootings at the Jewish Community Campus and Village Shalom on April 13. Memorial services for Lamanno, Corporon and Underwood are scheduled on Thursday and Friday.

“On behalf of the citizens of Kansas, Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer and I offer our condolences to the families and friends of those whose lives were lost in this senseless act of violence,” said Governor Brownback. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Bard confirmed to KOAM that his resignation is connected to a drug conviction from 2005.  Mayor Gary Shaw tells us the council will begin accepting applications for a new council member, and that member will be selected by the council. He hopes to address the now vacant seat as early as the next meeting.
