The Empire District Electric Company Files Annual Renewable Energy Standard Compliance Plan

NEWS RELEASE FROM EMPIRE DISTRICT ELECTRIC COMPANY

JEFFERSON CITY—Pursuant to Public Service Commission rule, The Empire District Electric Company (Empire) has filed its 2014 Annual Renewable Energy Standard Compliance Plan and 2013 Annual Renewable Energy Standard Compliance Report with the Missouri Public Service Commission.

The PSC staff has been directed to examine the Company’s Annual Renewable Energy Standard Compliance Plan and file a report of its review no later than May 30, 2014. The Office of the Public Counsel and any other interested person or entity has until May 30, 2014, to file any comments regarding Empire’s Renewable Energy Standard compliance report and compliance plan.

The Empire District Electric Company serves approximately 148,200 electric customers in the Missouri counties of Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Hickory, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, St. Clair, Stone and Taney.
