Brown, a 6-1, 180 pound guard comes to Southern from Joplin High School where he was a four-year starter for coach Jeff Williams and the Eagles. He was a four-time All-Conference, four-time All-District and this season was an All-State selection. Brown scored 1,865 career points for the Eagles, where as a senior, he averaged 23.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals. He scored 498 points as a senior and had 16 games with 20 or more points, and four games at 30 points or more.
