It was a rainbow in a different form at the Pittsburg State Indian Student Association's Festival of Colors.
The celebration, also known as Holi, is an ancient Hindu festival that embraces the spring season. Students, local residents and children threw natural colored powders and danced to music. Originally stemming from India, the festival is now widespread in the world, as it also spreads joy and relieves tension. PSU students have been enjoying the event for several years for many reasons.
"It's also a kind of a stress breaker for the students before the finals," says organizer Kartik Keshre. "And we set people free within the limits and they can do anything they want to do with colors."
Organizers say the paints used are all-natural.
