PSU Golfers Remain 11th After 2nd Rnd Action

The Pittsburg State University men's golf team finished second round action of the 2014 MIAA Championships in 11th place among 12 competing schools Tuesday (Apr. 22).

The Gorillas posted a 314 team score to finish 36 holes of competition with a 630 team score at Alvamar Golf Club. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will resume with a third and final round Wednesday (Apr. 23).

The University of Central Missouri led the field with a 288 score Tuesday to post a low 571 total. Northeastern State University shot a 303 score to finish 36 holes with a 594 total. The RiverHawks and Washburn University (294-300) are tied for second place.

Brandon Winfrey posted a round of 76 to lead the Gorillas. He also had a 76 Monday and sits in a tie for 25th place among individuals with a 152 score.

Justice Valdivia is tied for 31st place with a 153 (75-78).
