Woman charged after shooting her neighbor

Reported April 24, 2014:  Charges are filed today after a neighbor dispute sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Jennifer Crouch, 30, is facing three separate charges: assault in the second-degree, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

Jasper County deputies say it happened around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday near 7th Street and State Line Road.  That's near Galena, Kansas.

Arrest documents show a dispute between the Joplin woman and her neighbors ended with Crouch shooting 44-year-old Robert Johnson in stomach.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and is listed in good condition.



Reported April 23, 2014:  Multiple law enforcement agencies from two states respond to a shooting between Joplin and Galena this morning.

Authorities are on the scene of a shooting on the Missouri side of the stateline just east of Galena, Kansas.Jasper County deputies say they received a call to come to the scene near 7th and State Line Road at around 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday.

One man has been shot in the stomach.  He has been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening inuries.Police are also questioning a woman.

UPDATED AT 4:55PM:  A woman has been taken into custody.  Charges have not been officially filed.
