Mothers For Miracles brings new inclusive playground to Iola

Updated:
Children in Iola with special needs will now have the chance to have fun like other kids thanks to a special playground project that is nearly complete.

A group of mother's with special needs children teamed up with the Kiwanis club to build it. The group called mothers for miracles.

Leader, Lesley Skahan, who is a leader of the group, and a mother of a special needs child, worked with the Kiwanis to bring the playground to reality. The group received multiple grants and donations to purchase the equipment for the playground.

Dozens of volunteers spent Saturday installing everything for the playground, which features handicapped swings, accessible slides, and a soft playground surface.

The playground is expected to be fully completed and open by June 1st.
