Thirteen Hospitals Receive Award for Excellence in Supply Chain Management from VHA Inc.
IRVING, Texas, April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- VHA Inc., the national healthcare network, today announced the presentation of its 2014 Excellence Awards to 13 member hospitals for a variety of achievements related to improving supply chain performance over the course of 2013. The awards were presented on Sunday, April 27 during VHA's national Navigating to Excellence Forum, held in Las Vegas.
"Supply costs continue to represent the second highest expense for hospitals, not including labor, and they are always looking for new ways to manage expenses while continuing to provide exceptional patient care," said Scott Downing, VHA executive vice president, sales and marketing. "VHA's annual member conference, Navigating to Excellence Forum, brings health care delivery experts and leading health care systems together to share best practices and learn new strategies that improve performance in this key area of hospital operations."
VHA presented Excellence Awards in Supply Chain Management in eight categories. The winners were:
