NEWS RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY
PSU honors employees for service, Thursday
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American worker stays at his or her job just 4.4 years. Forbes magazine predicts it’s just half that for Millennials. So it may say something about Pittsburg State University, PSU employees or both that on Thursday, May 1, the campus will recognize seven employees for 35 years of service.
These long-time workers are among 83 who will be honored at the annual Employee Recognition ceremony at 3 p.m. in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom of the Overman Student Center. Another seven will receive pins for 30 years and 19 will receive pins for 25 years. Together, the employees receiving pins for 35, 30, 25, 20, 15 and 10 years of service have given 1,640 years to PSU.
One of those receiving a 25-year pin will be President Steve Scott.
“It’s an honor to be included among this group of individuals who have given so much to this university and its students,” Scott said. “It truly is a family.”
In addition to recognizing employees for their years of service, the university will also recognize 22 retiring employees.
