NEWS RELEASE FROM CROWDER COLLEGE

Webb City, MO - Joplin Industrial Electric and Cardinal Scale made check presentations to the Crowder College Foundation – Webb City building campaign today in the amounts of $15,000 and $40,000 respectively.

Their generous donation will be matched in the $1.5M fund raising efforts to complete Dawson-Spencer Hall that will open this fall.

“Joplin Industrial Electric was founded in 1946 by my grandfather, Austin Long, he ran his business with a strong belief in God and family and that is the type of atmosphere that he created. My father purchased the business in 1979 and operated it until 2003 when I, Jeff Cartright, and my wife, Jeanette, purchased the business. We strive ourselves in running a business that takes care of the customers first and to see all projects through till the end to be sure that each and every customer is receiving the best from our company in quality and customer service. My family believes that Crowder College is based on the same type of values, to offer each and every student the highest level of education that they can give them at a great value and that is why we chose to donate to this great charity,” stated Cartwright.

Founded in 1950 by Webb City citizen W.H. Perry, Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company has grown into one of the largest scale production companies in the world. Cardinal Scale is an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer and employees 315 associates with factory and headquarters in Webb City, MO and branch locations in Atlanta and Miami and warehouses in Toronto, Canada and Bury St. Edmunds, England.
