TAMKO donates $100,000 to help area tornado victims

A Joplin business is giving back after receiving the same courtesy, just three years ago.  TAMKO Building Products today donated $100,000 to help area tornado victims.

The funds were given to the Ozark Chapter of the American Red Cross and will help Baxter Springs and Quapaw recover from Sunday's tornado.

The president of TAMKO, David Humphreys, says the donation is a way to pay back the communities that supported Joplin after the 2011 tornado.

"It is always different when it is in your own backyard," says Humphreys.  "The Joplin community made us aware of that and we also had a facility in Tuscaloosa get hit by a tornado.  We are aware of the damage it can do and the effects on people's live and how scary it is."

TAMKO has been part of the Four States for nearly 70-years.
