Fort Scott Resident's Celebrate Big Brew Day

Beer makers gather in Fort Scott, Kansas for Big Brew Day.

The National Homebrew Day is recognized by the American Homebrews Association. According to the association, 49 states celebrate the day and more than 383 events are held in 14 different countries.

In Fort Scott, local brewers and beer enthusiasts shared stories and brewing tips in hopes to pique the interest of others.

Josh McClelalan, organizer of Big Brew Day, recognized the camaraderie and fun that comes with the event.

"Its fun especially when you can have something that your really proud of and want to share with other people it just makes the whole process more enjoyable," said McClellan.

The group will hold its first meeting may 29th at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Gallery in downtown Fort Scott.
