A paint run and 5k helps a local school raise funds to put toward better athletic fields.
Soaring Heights Elementary held a color run Saturday morning. The unique mile walk and 5k allows volunteers to squirt powder dye on participants clothing as they run by. According to organizers, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the elementary school and community by funding the improvement of a track with workout stations. It was a fun and wild event, according to one young participant
"There was just boxes and boxes of color dye, and there were little stations, said Kaitoin McPhetors. "And there was this one guy was wearing fuzzy viking hat, and he had a super soaker, and he run around and shoot us with a super soaker."
Organizers say they plan to hold the event next year.
