Stained Glass Theatre to receive $75,000 from Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri

Updated:

NEWS RELEASE FROM THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SOUTHWEST MISSOURI

The Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri, Inc. will make a $75,000 grant from the Joplin Recovery Fund to Stained Glass Theatre on Tuesday, May 20 at the John Wise Home, 504 S. Byers Ave., Joplin MO 64801.

The grant is intended to help Stained Glass Theatre rebuild their facility after the theatre was destroyed in the May 22, 2011 EF-5 tornado. The building will be used as a performing arts center and community outreach center to offer art classes and after school programs in the neighborhood.

If you are unable to make it to the grant presentation, the CFSWMO will provide a news release and photo from the event.

The Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri established the Joplin Recovery Fund to support mid- and long-term community redevelopment efforts to rebuild from the deadly tornado that struck on May 22, 2011. To date, more than $4 million in grants have been awarded from the Joplin Recovery Fund to Joplin-area nonprofits to help further this mission.
