Jasper County residents learn about safety and day-to-day operations of Sheriff's office

The Jasper County Sheriff's office hosted a Community Safety Day in Carthage. Residents watched demonstrations by the SWAT team and highway patrol officers and also witnessed part of the re-certification process for the K-9 team. Local agencies had booths with information. According to Sheriff Randee Kaiser, the day offers something for everyone, from kids to adults.

"This is one of many way that we try to get the community to see what we do on a day to day basis and have a chance to interact with them," said Kaiser.

This is the second year the Jasper County Sheriff's Office has hosted this event and the first time in their new location.
