Nevada woman killed in motorcycle versus car accident

A Nevada, Missouri woman is dead after a vehicle failed to yield after stopping, and pulled into the path of the motorcycle she was riding.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says they were called to US-54 just west of Nevada on Monday at 3:49 PM.

The MHP says Leonette Hammontree, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

    FIRE TRUCK CRASH Authorities say a Columbus, Kansas engine was responding to a fire on the west end of town, when a medical condition caused the driver to lose consciousness behind the wheel.  The fire truck then left the road and hit a tree.  No word yet on what medical condition caused the driver to pass out.  He was last reported to be alert and stable.       LAKE OF THE OZARKS CRASH A boat driver is arrested and is facing charg...More >>
