Young Joplin business owner finds inspiration from father

Updated:
Daniel Covington launched Convington's Sewing Machine Repair after seeing his father's success with his shoe repair business. Covington completed both a beginners and advanced sewing machine repair class prior to going into business.

He works on two to three sewing machines a week in a shared office space on 4th street. He owes much of his venture to his father.

"He travels around gives two, three days classes of beginners and advanced, and so he found that online and I saved up the money over one summer and then took it," he said.

Covington says his most common repair is fixing a machine's tension.
