Stroup's Addition Highlights Marijuana.com's Commitment to Providing Industry Leading News and Commentary

IRVINE, Calif., June 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Marijuana.com, the newly re-launched cannabis news and community site, announced today that Keith Stroup, founder of the leading marijuana advocacy group National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), has joined the site as a weekly contributor. Stroup's column, which will appear every Sunday, will cover local, state, and federal marijuana policy and social issues.

"Keith is like the godfather of the marijuana reform movement," said Justin Hartfield, CEO of Weedmaps.com and Marijuana.com. "He's been fighting the good fight for nearly 50 years and is a treasure-trove of information. Our readers are in for a real treat. We're honored and really excited to have him on board as a contributor."

Stroup is a Washington, D.C. public-interest attorney who founded NORML in 1970. Since its founding, NORML has been a voice in the public policy debate for Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting marijuana smokers. A nonprofit public-interest advocacy group, NORML represents the interests of more than 10 million Americans who smoke marijuana responsibly.

"As we continue to push for legalization, it's so important for the public to have access to comprehensive and reliable content," said Stroup. "That's exactly what Marijuana.com is doing, and I'm excited to be a part of that."

Monday night, NORML's Denver, Colo. Branch launch, along with an important new venture announcement, will take place at the Weedmaps Denver location. Marijuana.com will report out the announcement and continue incorporating subject matter experts like Keith Stroup.

Marijuana.com is actively growing and seeking top journalistic candidates including a Managing Editor and content contributors. To apply, email careers@marijuana.com.
