NEW YORK, June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In order to strengthen its trial and appellate litigation practice, especially within its life sciences licensing and patent prosecution groups, Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer Baratz LLP (www.pearlcohen.com) has added three new senior attorneys-Veronica Munoz, Lani Questembert and Brendan Mee-to the firm's New York office.
Veronica Munoz, a trial lawyer with over 18 years experience representing Fortune 500 and small companies in both bench and jury trials and in the appellate process, joins Pearl Cohen as a partner. A specialist in life sciences patent litigation, she has handled disputes involving pharmaceuticals, biologics, siRNA, gene sequencing, transgenic plants, cardiovascular stents and medical devices, as well as mechanical and electrical products. "Veronica is an outstanding trial lawyer," said Zeev Pearl, managing partner of the firm. "She will be a tremendous addition to our expanding litigation practice."
New special counsel Lani Questembert is an experienced litigator who has focused on patent litigation and licensing transactions, primarily in life sciences. She and Veronica Munoz worked together previously at Hogan Lovells US LLP.
Brendan Mee, also a special counsel, specializes in patent prosecution and portfolio management in the life sciences and medical and chemical arts. A former patent examiner for the US Patent and Trademark office, he trained as a chemical engineer before becoming an attorney.
"We are thrilled to welcome these three outstanding attorneys to Pearl Cohen," said Mark Cohen, chair of the firm's Life Science Group. We have seen tremendous growth in the life sciences industry both in the U.S. and abroad and they will enhance Pearl Cohen's core strengths in that important field."
