NEWS RELEASE FROM LIFE OF HOPE MINISTRIES

Joplin, MO - June 3, 2014 - Life of Hope Ministries, a local Christian ministry, works to support mission efforts with children in Guatemala City, with a special focus on the ghettos and the city landfill.  This landfill is the largest landfill in Central America.

Administrative operations started in June of 2004.  $47,000 was raised in their first year.  The ministry is under the direction of Rick Grove along with Devin Chance, Director of Development, Scott Hutson, Director of Administration and Nancy Hutson, Director of Advancement.

The "Decade of Difference" campaign is a celebration of those 10 years and a goal of $47,000 has been set with a goal to grow established programs of their field partners.  Those areas needing funding are a water filtration system, hospital expansion, Bible distribution, scholarships for children and food distribution.  Life of Hope Ministries also organizes short-term mission groups throughout the year which provides further support for their partners in Guatemala.

Nancy Hutson, Director of Advancement states, "The Decade of Difference celebrates the incredible results that have been seen in the past 10 years."  "There is so much work to be accomplished alongside our partners in Guatemala and we are anxious to move forward into the next decade and the difference that is still yet to come," continues Mrs. Hutson.
