Southeast Kansas Humane Society hosts annual Bark in the Park event

Updated:

A benefit walk and fundraiser for the humane society, the bark in the park event hosted various activities for pets and owners, including vendors and demonstrations. Dog owners even had the option to get massages. Officials with the humane society say that these fundraisers are is key for the group, as the shelter remains at full capacity

"It cost the shelter about $750 a day throughout the year to run it, so it very expensive to take care of those animals so everything adds up," said Erika Wilson, SEK  Human Society.

Auditions were also being held for David Letteman's "Stupid Pet Tricks" segment, for which one person from Southeast Kansas could be featured on the Late Show.
