New Fire Department for City of Quapaw - KOAM TV 7

New Fire Department for City of Quapaw

Updated:
The city of Quapaw will have a new fire station. Quapaw city officials approved a bid for more than $230,000 to build a new station.

It will be at the same location of the now damaged building.

The fire department was relocated to the Quapaw bus barn after the April 27th tornado. "It's kind of difficult at times - We've all kind of coped with it," says Quapaw Fire Chief Billie Kerley. "We're all excited all the guys and myself also you know coming through town quite a bit and seeing the station the way it is and finally got some stuff going our way now."

Kerley hopes to have the station completed by the end of this summer.
