United Way Day of Action - KOAM TV 7

United Way Day of Action

Updated:

The United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas partnered today with 12-area companies for the organization's annual Day of Action.  Fifty volunteers joined in on the community wide day of service.

One group aided staff members at the Heritage Youth Development center in Webb City.  Others spent time cleaning up neighborhoods, assisting at crisis shelters, and providing painting or landscaping services to the community.

"It means a lot to me to see the dollars that we donate to the United Way actually working in the community and seeing the families and the kids that the dollars that we donate help," says volunteer Robin McAlester.

The Day of Action is an annual event and takes place each June.
